I have always been interested in art from a very young age and this shows through the educational path that I have taken. I took Art and Photography at Alevels and then went on to do a Foundation degree in art and Design. I have just finished a two year Contemporary Art practice course, which includes business practice aswell as art practice. Textiles interest me as it means I can create tactile, stitched pieces, which is what i enjoy doing within my work.
I like to try to incorporate ideas and objects from my environment into my work. Either taking inspiration from places that I have visited, my childhood, my home, or other similar areas. This allows me to have a deeper knowledge and understanding of the area that I want to explore, so that I can easily generate ideas and work from these.
